Temporary Services turned one of our favorite images into a print. The photograph comes from a collection we have been building for over 10 years that we call Public Phenomena -- ways in which people modify the uses of public spaces beyond official planning or control. The image is of a parking place saver used by a Chicagoan to claim public space for his or her own use.

We used the original photograph as a cover for our 2005 booklet Public Phenomena - Informal Modifications of Shared Spaces.
