The Smile Book by Wendy Nuñez was created out of a collaboration between artist Marc Fischer (of Temporary Services, Half Letter Press, and Public Collectors), Chicago Public School teacher Katy Jung, and students from North-Grand High School in Chicago. The project was funded through Chicago Arts Partnerships in Education's (CAPE) SCALE Program. 

For this booklet, student artist Wendy Nuñez has paired her drawings of cats, birds, unicorns, and friendly people with inspirational quotes from such notables as Maya Angelou, Lady Gaga, Henry David Thoreau, Albert Einstein, and others. Each 2-page spread includes a quote on one half and a drawing/text by Wendy on the other. A booklet that celebrates people as they are, in all of their weirdness, and hopes to make the reader smile when they are feeling down.
